I genuinely don't have any of them, did do, don't anymore, too easy to spend every spare bit of time flicking through them rather than doing something constructive, also the amount of shit people put on there started to annoy me too

It's a smartphone app that has unfairly received a bad reputation

Basically it's a means to share photos along with short text descriptions.

You choose companies and people to "follow". All photos uploaded by these people then appear in a timeline for you to quickly skim through.

The app allows you to add retro filters to your photos. This feature along with the app being widely used to share selfies and food images has given it some harsh criticism, which is quite unreasonable given it's up to you who you follow and said shitty photos are thus easily avoided.

As you're a car guy, there's lots of interesting accounts to follow.

Photos are tagged using hashtags, which is something people seem to be quite confused about.
In essence, it's a means of searching for specific content. For instance, you could to a search for #cosworth and see all pictures tagged as such.
