As standard the Megane uses a fpr in tank so there is no return from the rail.
I am fitting a swirl pot with a 044 pump and pressure regulator. Would you put the regulator by the fuel rail or keep it near the tank?

Depends of your putting a return on the fuel rail?
Or leaving it with no return?

Moving it to the bay will make it easier to run a vac/boost ref line to it.
so the fuel pressure rises with your boost pressure. DDon't know how the standard one did this?

Might have got my terminology wrong here, but doesn't a fixed rate FPR still raise with boost pressure - but just on a static 1:1 rate?
So if baseline fuel pressure is 40psi, it'll add 1psi for every 1psi of boost so at 20psi boost you'll have 60psi fuel pressure.
A rising rate is on a ratio of 1:1.2 for example.
Either way would still need a vac/boost tap I would have thought.
I'd also stick it as close to the rails as possible - as the more pipework you've got between it and the rails - the more scope you've got for the pressure to bleed off.

Nope it's just a static 3.5bar system non rising. A lot of newer cars are like it.
Just is a pain having it in the bay as I'll need to run an extra line.
How I see it if you have 3.5bar at the regulator anything after it should be 3.5bar as its a pressurised system.

3.5 bar with 2 bar boost means you effectively have 1.5 bar fuel pressure.
And it's anything before the reg is under pressure, the fpr is the restriction causing the pressure to build up.

I only run a small turbo. So the 3.5 static is ample can run 330bhp at 3.5 static with 1.5bar boost
