2003
Astra G Coupe Turbo
Z20 LET
72,000
So here is the car:
First thing to do was to get it serviced as it had been stood for a year and not had a service for a couple of years! So managed to nurse it home, it ran ok and felt very sluggish for a 2.0 Turbo not that I was gunning it to preserve the engine etc.
So popped to Vx and got some service bits and also some brakes which I was kind of expecting were going to need replacing due to it being stood, they felt "OK" but made quite a bit of noise and looked like they needed replacing. Ouch!
Plans are:
Service/Timing Belt/MOT
Then:
250-280bhp (as much as I can do without a big bad boy exhaust)
18" wheels
GSI front
OPC modded grille
Paint calipers
Sort boot lid/spoiler out.
Xenons/Shark Eyes
Sat Nav retro fit
Install my Alpine HU
Speakers
CLEAN THE SHIT OUT OF THE INTERIOR
Then just enjoy

Ok So heres the mileage reading!
Time for a trip to Lemass...
Discs and pads:
Forgot to take pics sorry. Was a rush!
Then the bad news, rear caliper is fucked. Needs replacing, so two on order!
Thing was mouldy too.
Oh and there was a family of spiders living inside one of the front discs Bet that was a bit of a wild ride home
Today I nipped out to have a quick spruce of some trim with the trusty APC. Also wanted to take a look at the alcantara as its filthy, properly dreading cleaning it because allegedly its difficult but I really like it so want to get it sorted. Did a couple of little test patches and seems that it will be possible!!
Pics are crap but just did a couple of bits of trim. Steering wheel came up well.
Crappy 50/50 of the grey bit, was proper manky.
Not keen on these centre consoles, the coating is tacky and naff, remember my GSi being the same. Going to do the Sat Nav mod so will get this all painted up. Probably get it done Piano black (Tom )
Thats it for now, more interesting updates to follow

Thanks Ian, I am actually overly excited about this. Not sure why I am excited about a 12 year old generic Astra
Trying to weigh up wheel options:
1. VXR Snowflakes 18"
2. Twin Top multi Spokes 18"
3. BBS CH's 18"
4. Revolution Milleniums 18"
Gunna change centre console and do the 5.5" Garmin mod

VXR snowflakes would be my choice, awesome wheel, that said I don't mind the standard ones on these
Didn't you have a mk4 GSi way back when? Probably excited for the same reason I smile like a big kid when I drive my Corsa, pure nostalgia

I've got a complete convertible ready to come apart and two on the shelf if you need used bits.
Could probably have sorted those rear calipers unless you went for new ones? Sure they're sensible money refurb.

Interesting Ian!
Are they Lucas ones? PM me what you're after for them. Be interested to know what condition the headlights are in also? And. If it has a battery bag.

Yes mate bough em as though about dropping to 18s on mine but don't like it even before its lowered so I want to stick with 19s unsure weather to keep hold of them as spares or not yet, I can get you piks they have some very light marks, silver, all genuine and 4 matching low profile tyres with loads of life I'll have to check Monday on size and brand there in work, £400 they'll be that's what I paid, plus a bit for a courier

Grey crap on the centre console comes off if you soak it in/scrub with acetone, but probs easier to get a standard plain one.
