I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I could possibly modify this car to go close to or over the 200bhp marker, it's at 125bhp at the moment.

Any suggestions are well taken.

The reason for my posting is that there seems to be very little info on modifying this type of vehicle. 1.8 simply does not seem to exist online.

With hope of getting some information from you all.

I was thinking about keeping it over the 200 marker, not just blast over it, I was hoping to get it over the 200 and then install the nos, take it close to 300 with the nos

You want throttle bodies and a better engine management system. What have you done so far. My GSi is having an engine rebuild at the moment and when its done it will have between 130 and 140 BHP.

I haven't done anything yet, I have a k&n filter on order, should arrive in 2 weeks and I am thinking about getting a remappable computer chip, + the exhaust will be redone

all in all should come out close to 150bhp, I just want over the 200 wall preferably without a engine swap

Yeah, the true GSI is supposed to be turbo'd aint it.........well thats last i heard but correct me if I am wrong which I could well be.

Generally people transplant engines because they have something like a 1.2 or 1.4 and step up to a 2.0, but if you already have a 1.8 whats the point in putting a 2.0 in, may as well just put the same money into tuning the 1.8 instead of following the usual trend of transplants.

the corsa c sri 1.8 is called a gsi in the rest of europe. You will not be able to do an engine teansplant due to everything being electronic in the corsa c. you can get it chipped and that though.

Am I just the dumb Aussie here, or has everyone forgotten about the fly-by-wire throttle on the C?

Seems to me that SBD throttle bodies would probably bolt up OK, but what are you going to use to make the throttle butterflies open when you press the accelerator pedal?

And I'd like to know what aftermarket engine management systems do fly-by-wire throttles. I haven't found one yet.

doristori is right, I haven't found much in the way of performance parts online for the ZE18XE engines.

There are a couple of people doing cams/reprogram ecu that reckon they can get you 20 hp (16 kw).

Of course the standard tuning techniques will work on any motor, but the Cs are going to be a little bit harder due to the complex nature of the engine management

Astra turbo uses a 2.0 litre version of the same engine. Exhaust, turbo and ecu should fit OK...
