What would you do with them?

It's seems there's a big divide on opinion. Personally I think they should all be unloaded into a safer boat and taken back to Libya, effectively deporting them. There's a lot of human rights folk saying they should be let into where ever they want because they need help.

I believe the Australian Immigrant system works best, we have the benefits of importing highly skilled labour where it's needed and stop the scroungers coming in

I dont understand why theres so much concern about illegal people doing illegal things, and coming off the worse for wear for putting themselves in such positions to perform such illegal activities.

As much as I don't want to condone illegal immigration a lot of these people are fleeing a war zone and many would have actually been wealthy (they would have to be to pay the traffickers anyway) and well educated..

Its sheer desperation that many are paying substantial amounts of money and risking their lives just for the little hope of escape.

We'd all do the same thing if we were in the same situation and had the funds to do so.

The country is overcrowded, but I know if my family and children were at risk of being killed, injured or dying I'd go wherever I can for a safer environment.

Actually loads of people in both Italy and France speak fluent English. I realise most come in via France, doesn't stop then travelling to England after that.

If your in a country where you know death is likely imminent, your living within a warzone with family and children I think you would do anything to leave, sheer desperation which no-one here can imagine.

I don't think these people are simply coming here to fleece the brits of their taxes, its to save their lives.

I also don't think this country and support the increasing number of foreign visitors.

99% of the time it's down to the fact they'll do it for a third or quarter of the typical cost; see it all the time in IT and it just pushes salaries/going-rates down.

Until they do a shit job and then they end up paying 1.25 or 1.33 because they have to get someone else in to do the job properly. Seen that a lot recently, I'm working with a school that has had it happen and I'm there to pick up the pieces!
