Fancy a frontera for shits and gigs
The engines seem a bit pony...
Id ideally want a V6 ( seems the best to me but i know bot all about off roading )
I want SWB so 3 door
I want manual
Do they even exist? Pros/cons? Parts available for off road (lift kits etc)? Capable?
It will be used for green laning and towing shit
Not a fantastic budget - up to but ideally a lot less £1200

I think most were scrapped weren't they by now? Which bodes well for spares.

Nah want a 3 door - defenders are too much, not keen on the suzuki jobbies, would consider a pajero type thing or a pick up though

i have a swb v6 frontera rs. very thirsty things but if your just using it for green laning then wont be an issue.
they dont do a lift kit for them as such bu pretty much all the isuzu trooper stuff fits for suspension. the front is just on on torsion bars so is nice and easy to lift. just need to be aware of rust as stated.
be aware of the later ones with the four wheel drive system as they are all on vacuum solenoids for the activation. make sure it works. if someone had fiddled with the hoses on them they are a nightmare to try and get right. check all body mounts as they are a nightmare to try and undo if rusty for if and when you do the body lift.
the accumalator for the four wheel drive system is just in front of the the engine on the subframe so check for damage.
if you go in deep bogy mud expect to have to take the starter motor off and give it a clean as it clogs up very easily. also ABS sensor like to fail on them
i really enjoy mine its a good laugh.

Better off with a Pajero if it's for modding and lifting, but you'll pay through the nose.
