Just wondered what everyone would prefer in an ideal world or what you have at the moment.
Obviously how many miles you do makes a big difference, but for the sake of this poll, lets say you do 40 miles per day.
I suppose there are two lines of thought:
-Have a runabout to pack the miles on and a weekend toy that you keep for special occasions (but then you pay for 2 x insurance, tax, MOT)
-Have one really nice car e.g. M3, RS4 and stack the miles on and sod depreciation.
I've always had a decent run about and 'weekend' car (some of which have been ok, some have been sheds).

Was stuck between one nice car but went for decent daily and a toy. 40 miles a day isn't much a year.

2 car option will always work best for me.
I have what I regard as a good weekend and evening car at the moment. It could be used as a daily but would rather not rack up too many miles on it - not too bothered about the depreciation, I just like to keep it in top condition.
Used to have a Land Rover which took the strain but it has since given up.

2 cars at least, couldn't be doing with a boring 'expensive' car. Got to have something to be pissing about with. Plus new cars are boring.

I've got a great big dirty Volvo S80 for daily use and general chucking stuff in.
In an ideal world I'd have my Impreza back on the road for Sunday best, that or a nice BM etc.

I prefer a decent daily worth around 12-15k and a bit of free cash to use towards stuff I like doing at weekends like going away with my tent and bike with mates.

I never understand the "I have a separate car to keep miles off my nice car" surely you buy the nice car to use, not to stay in a garage.

You may only want the nice car to use for enjoyment purposes though, driving to work in traffic wouldn't be that and just adding wear and tear on it

I now have Corrado as a car to work on and use in nice weather and a nice low mileage Audi A3 Tdi for daily use.
Quite happy now, as Audi is a decent car instead of a £150 escort etc.
Its not to keep mileage down on corrado as its already on 224,000miles.
Paid £4k for corrado, £4k for the audi, still don't think cars are worth more than that to me. Wouldn't want an £8k car

It's a difficult one.
I've got a nice vehicle daily ( 2013 Caddy van) but I drive it a lot.
My Vauxhall Viva I have for fun and summer drives.
But also have a motorbike for green laning and Enduro stuff. Looking for a another bike for the road.
But I also have the wife's Mini Countryman cooper s for a nice evening car.
So I went with the fleet one.

More cars for different purposes.
That said a lot of my miles now are towing so I couldn't really run something other than a newer 4x4 and not only would I ruin something nice, sometimes you just want to drive something smaller.
Never seen the purpose of driving a shit box instead of putting miles on your nice car. Even when I was commuting and sitting in a queue all morning I think I'd have hated it slightly more were it in a worse car. Plus the maths is questionable.
I'd go to the shops in the Puma if it was on the road.

I'd like an all in one type car I could use for the tip run, shopping trips, taking family out and for driving like a lunatic but it's out of my price range (RS4), so i'd probably got for a decent weekend and daily runner.
Although I want a pick up so bad more F150 than navara/l200 as they're pikey wagons.

Been using the Corsa as a daily this week as i've been working on the TT and I will be glad to be back in comfort next week

Same. I'd want to drive the best I can afford every day.
I understand multiple cars if they do completely different things. As Nic, a van and car.
Or if you have an actual track car, that doesn't make sense to use as or simply isn't very good as a daily driver.
Or if one is a restoration project, like 1.18" Jim's Golf coupé.

Golf Coupe
I totally get why people would want to keep their pride and joy dry and used in fair weather, blats at the weekend avoiding parking dings and the like.
However, this when applied to a vauxhall makes literally NO sense

I have 3
2 year old family car, crumbs, parking dents and covers most of the miles. My wife uses it every day.
My Runaround: Nice enough for shows but not too clean that I'm afraid to use it and leave it in car parks.
Nice car: I use it for about a week at a time in the summer to keep it healthy but its really for shows.

"A decent 'daily' and a weekend car (track car or posh car)"
I have this, but there both Vauxhalls so not so sure either are classed as "decent, track car or posh car"
