Right I'm after a music app that will allow to play downloaded music without using mobile data/WiFi.
I've downloaded Spotify but to use the 'offline' mode you have to pay £12 with a month free, however my friend has also got the same app and hers if free all the time how has she managed that?
Or any other apps that people recommend.

Spotify is £9.99 a month as far as I'm aware, not £12.
You can use Apple Music for three months free from 5pm today:
http://www.apple.com/music/
Alternatively Blinkbox Music has offline listening capabilities and is free, but is a 'mixtape' style service so you won't necessarily get to pick every individual song on a playlist, but you can create a playlist based on a particular song or genre:

Yeah that's the long way of doing things.

Ah, Spotify is asking for £12. but I've taken off the Auto renewal.
For blinkbox, does that have Ads after every other song?

Blinkbox does have ads, but not hugely intrusive. Fewer ads and at a lower frequency than your local radio station I'd imagine.

Were you renewing your subscription via in-app purchase? Maybe they sting you for two quid more to cover Apple fees.
Renewing your Spotify via the actual website is only a tenner, I'm sure of it.

Yeah I don't get the issue either.
Are you trying to avoid syncing with a computer?

I pay £9.99/month for Spotify. It's free for your first 60 days too
https://www.spotify.com/uk/premium/
(Sign up on the website, not via the app).

Also, Spotify is well worth the price imo.
You can play it on the PS4 as well and control it with your phone.
Driving around GTA with Iron Maiden blasting on Spotify is superb.
Great alternative to a streaming solution as well if your PS4 is hooked to your stereo.

I found Blinkbox a bit annoying in that its set up to play songs similar to those you "like" but some of the stuff it chooses is beyond random. Most of my stuff was Indie/Metal music and then some Disney song came on with Mickey Mouse singing
Spotify is great and well worth the money.

Just canceled Spotify to try this out over the summer.
So far I'm prepared to stick with Apple Music if only for the feature I've longed for the most with Spotify, queuing albums.
And Mrs. Balling is over the moon with Taylor Swift being available.

Same, i just download the songs/albums i want and play them through my phones player. Much easier than when you used to have to record off the radio onto cassette

Spotify's genre radio stations were better than Deezer's for a while. I like how Deezer allowed you to upload your own music and have it alongside streamable stuff in the app.
Loving Apple Music atm though
