What's this going on at the minute where you take your number plate off your front bumper and put it in your windscreen?

Noticed more and more cars doing it now, is it a spin off from taking a normal car number plate and buying a square one and mounting it off centre?

Been around for ages. It's for people who want plateless front ends but don't want police grief.

Was fined £100 for having mine in the window.

I understand why people do it, I don't understand it when they keep the original
Plate recess and still do it

I think it looks good when they take the standard plate off and screw it with wood screws into the left hand side of the bumper leaving the origional recess visable

I got pulled when I had mine in the window of my corsa. There's some motors round here with them in the window front and back, and although I can see where they're coming from and the bumpers look better, it looks rather shit when you see plates in the windows

Quite common with 4x4s round my way when people
Crop the bumper and can't be arsed to take two minutes to mount it on the roof rack so it gets lashed on the dashboard

Don't like stick on ones. Think they look completely gash.

Look shite. Especially that above.

Look even worse when people do it to have a plateless bumper but still have screw holes in it.

I bought a stick on one for my old Evo. The plate holder made the plate stick to far out IMO.

My mate done his properly on his old LCR. Got the plate holder cut away and smoothed for better air flow to his huge cooler.

The factory plate location looks shite on the rx8s. Right on the front bumper grill. Divides opinion on how and where to relocate it. Most do it offset down low or in the middle down low which I'm not keen on.
