Anybody ever been selling one of their cars and found that no one was interested or just made silly offers on it?
I'm currently in this situation, had it up for sale for just over 5 weeks, dropped the price, had it on ebay, Auto Trader, Pistonheads, Gumtree and advertised locally, but no serious offers or viewings! Would you hold out for the price you want? Or bite the bullet and sell it risking taking a hit?

1) Tax will be a cunt, so you need to find a petrol head.
2) Is it modified? If so, you'll need to find a trusting enthusiast.

You clearly want too much money for it.. Remember Golfs are owned by Scene Pricks who think they are worth all the money in the world so don't go by all of the prices the dreamers put on their cars.

Is £8k the going rate for a 2005 golf with going on 90k miles? Less than 2months MOT is a little off putting.

Tax won't be a cunt as it's pre March 2006. It'll most likely be the same as mine, £285 per year.

I've seen others with higher mileage, in worse condition, and without leather for the same money, if not more than mine is advertised for. I'd happily put 12 months test on it, but thought you could only do it within a month of it running out?

I've just looked and can't see what you're seeing, the cheapest on auto trader with similar mileage, which aren't Cat C/D is £7795, and mines £7800. There's even a couple of Cat D's for £7500 so I can't see how you value mine at £6500

I didn't value yours at any price. I just told you what others are going for. You did ask, nothing worth laughing at going on tbh.
DSG one here?

Tax isn't expensive, it's the standard price for a decent car
In respect of the add, id say the main reason is the 2 months MOT. Sounds dogee as hell.
Any buyer is going to ask themselves the reason for you not putting 12 months on. Ether the cars a shitter, or you can't afford £50. Both off putting to a potential buyer

Can you MOT a car whenever then? I thought you could only do it 4 weeks in advance of it expiring? I don't have a problem putting it through another MOT.
