Just remember you could technically incriminate yourself if you're not careful with one of those.

What happens if you have a prang and the footage shows you were at fault. Can the other driver see your dash cam and demand you hand over footage to the insurers?

So basically if someone else hits you, you will say oh I have a dash cam. If you hit someone else, no dash cam.

Like I said, YouTube dash cam wanker.

This isn't for my car, it's a gift.
I see no issue with people having them, it's there to help you and I'll get one eventually too

He's already said he doesn't upload stuff so nothing to do with Youtube.

Regarding incrimination, of course you would use the footage if it benefits your case and redact it where it doesn't.

Same as any evidence. Not sure whether last time you crashed you marched over and made sure the other guy knew every road traffic offence or piece of poor driving leading up to the incident. Of course you didn't.

Yes Officer I would just like to tell you, just before it came to rest in the ditch I was overtaking on double whites while eating a sandwich.

My mate cancelled his order because of exactly that. Worried about incriminating himself. No one can force you to show the footage and if the worst does happen, remove it.

Am I missing something or are people genuinely worried that owning a dash cam will force them to admit being at fault in an accident?

Shit bag, the benefits of one far outweigh any issue with incrimination.

No although the above wouldn't put me off owning a camera, still think the benefits are greater than the potential to have the card seized.

All cyclists should use them imho so we can report bad driving and potential near death moments that occur.

I think all cyclists should fuck off. Happy to squeeze through the smallest gap ever but go within 10 feet of them and they go mental
