Hi I wish to upgrade my corsa d to 17 inch wheels from the design 16 inch wheels, I'm worried about handling weight etc. Any ways I can find out how much the wheels weigh? Do SRI wheels weigh less?

Which are best 17inch vauxhall wheels to upgrade to?

thankx

Its a compromise on strength so don't just go for the lightest you can find, they will generally also be the most fragile.

Just get some OEM 17s that you like the look of.
The Weight differences won't make a jot of difference on a boggo Corsa D.

Really, I thought maybe go for SRi wheels as they mite be lighter. just don't want to mess up handling breaking mainly. thankx

ps will the 215 tyres make much difference from 195s?

Upgrading your tyre width from 195 to 215 will male your car feel ever so slightly slower due to increased rolling resistance.

Changing the weight & size of the wheel will have little to no effect on your corsa. They are designed to be run on several different sizes of wheels. Just think of the wheels which come on an entry level corsa vs the wheels found on a VXR model. The components behind the wheel will barely differ apart from spring/damper combo, roll bar thickness and maybe brake setup but appart from that it will all be the same & fine

I found some 17's but they have 225 45 tyres, will 225 be ok? according to the tyre calculator I used it will be 2% off larger.

Yes only because the aspect ratio is a percentage of width

I had 215/45/17's on my 1.3cdti corsa d, and made a big difference to handling from the standard 16" on 195/55/16's went from continentals to pirelie p zero tyres.
couldn't find any 17" Vauxhall rims cheap enough at the time so went for pro race 1.2.
then droped it 30mm on bilstien b12 kit handles great just needs better brakes and more power.
best mate has it now and says the same.

like the guy said the rolling radius would be larger, that is down to the increased width. So yes, it would affect things
