Thought I'd upload a wee thread of the new motor, sold the black SRi and picked up this the following day!
Previous motor:
Ever since owning the Nova (First Car) I've always missed an 8v engine, so the black Corsa just didn't do it for me being an 14xe.
Seen this on eBay, shit pics, not much details but took the risk and went a 3 and half hour trip to see it at Durham.
5 owners from new, 65k miles, c14se, very clean car underneath, not been molested like most.
Ended up coming away with it and loving it so far, here's some photos
Advert photos
Soon as I got it home I ordered new plates (pre-2001 font) to get rid of the union jack and plate surrounds.
Managed to give it a clean at the weekend and fitted my Depo's off the old one (still not sure on them)
Next up, some mudflaps.. anybody have any rear's for sale ?
Cheers

Once its got mudflaps i'm just going to get it cleaned up and a machine polish.
Possibly fit my Speedlines after they've been painted and a nice Sportex from manifold back, enjoying the induction roar too much the now though!

Same design as a GSi one but these are the normal rubbery type instead of leather.

No, same design but that's not leather like the GSi one.

Looks like a clean wee car mate, was very tempted by this but i'm committed with the white one now.
Did you managed to get the back mudflaps sorted yet? Has the boot had a bit of paint at some point or new badges fitted? Looks like they are sitting a bit high.

Still not got any mudflaps yet.. And I think it must have had a tailgate or its been painted, the badges are high and the Vauxhall one is squint

Looks very clean.
Having driven both the 8v and 16v, I don't understand why you'd want 8 though

I just prefer them to drive, much more revvy, this has half the mileage of the 16v, not been tampered with, there bullet proof and so on!

I think I prefer the original front lights though. Always get nostalgic when I see clean ones of these and gsi's

Gave the car a clean at the weekend, needing someone to machine polish it though.
Tried my Speedline's on, hated them, sold them.
Drove 300 miles there then 300 miles back for these.
Gave the two SRi yokes a good clean!
Still on the hunt for Pre 97 mudflaps, a stainless backbox and -60mm springs if anyone has anything, cheers

Red Sri is very cool. The c14se is a miles better choice as well than the later xe engines. I've had a few of them and loved them.
I know that white nova, reg is very familiar. You on png? Not sure where I've seen it before.

The badges will probably need to come off for the polish anyway.

I agree, c14se is much better. The Nova is a legend around my area, has ran about for years, had all sorts of engines including 1600 8v race engine and a c20xe at one point. It was down south aswell at some point in its life with a full GSi kit on it. Now back to an original-ish SRi though

Managed to find a set of mudflaps, got them fitted. Didn't get any pics.
Bought a custom cat-back exhaust for it so got that fitted aswell.
Some pics of the exhaust.
Didn't fit at all to begin with managed to get it it to fit but still need to cut the tip down a bit and weld it back on.
Found a -60mm kit on the facebook pages so bought that and got it fitted today after college.
Managed to get brand new GM badges for it to replace the old tatty ones, will get them fitted once its been machine polished in May.
Cheers
