OK so probably my own fault for not using it for about a month, but whats caused it to not switch on and how can I fix it. If it matters the tablet is an Asus of some sort less than a year old.

Nothing happened. When I plug it in to charge nothing comes on the screen to say its charging the screen just stays black. I think it may be dead ffs cost £100 and I didn't take the insurance

IF its less than a year old just have manufacturer warranty repair it.
If you're happy to though just open it up, disconnect the battery for a few seconds, put it back together and charge it.

Dont like the idea of opening it as there are no visible screws, would probably end up damaging it. I think I know where the receipt is so I can check the purchase date but the item its self my be over a year old, would that make a difference?

Case will likely just click off, just google the model and opening instructions. Piece of piss 99% of the time.

OK so grew some balls and opened it up, unplugged the battery and left it for 5 mins. Put it all back together and tried switching it on to no avail, reading a tech how to thread it suggests charging it from the wall before checking it again. If that fails then I guess I'll possibly have to pay someone to fix it, build date is 2014 according to the box, purchase date I don't know as I cant find the receipt, thought it was in the box.
