Thought I would make a little project thread for this car as it's probably going to be a long process.
Picked this up with a friend last night on trade plates (no mot)
1998 328i m sport
108k miles
Black leather
Nice standard example apart from an awful dish drift style steering wheel.
Plans are to put an Mot on it as its been sat for over a year, tidy up the exterior, partly strip the interior while keeping carpets etc so it's not a rattling nightmare, buckets and harnesses then some decent coilovers and brakes.
Already got a M50 inlet to go on it and a scorpion cat back which the guy sold me cheap, that will be going straight up for sale as its a horrible letterbox style tail pipe...
Will miss my Clio but it's gone to a good home, hopefully the bmw will be fun once it's had a few bits and bobs done...
And the e36
My mate looked happy with his ride home 😂

Excellent buy. I've had a few e36s in the past and absolutely love them.

Knew you'd be the next to reply Jambo
Wish I didn't sell my M3 last year. Was proper cool and it would of been worth 3 times the value now

Had a bit of spare time today to start cleaning up the sport, had it mot'd first thing this morning...
Got it home, did an oil filter change aswell as plugs. Car has been sat for over a year but I don't think it's been serviced in a long time !! Oil filter pretty much fell apart, plugs were fooked !
Gave the interior a quick clean up, put the standard steering wheel back in, hated the dished drift wheel !
Gave the wheels a quick going over with some polish, far from perfect but much more presentable I think.
Exterior just got a quick wash, and freshened up the black trims.
It's going to be machine polished in the next couple of weeks.
Still lots of jobs to do but I'm quite happy at the moment
Before picture of one of the wheels
My friend turned up in a DBS he's been working on this weekend, he has changed the carbon ceramics on it... Customer said he could use it for the weekend

Shame it hasn't got the half leather sport interior in but doesn't matter if you're putting buckets in.
That dbs looks stunning!

Nice Chris
Standard seats are awful, I fitted E46 M3 seats and it transformed the car.
I want this if you ever sell it

No you don't Jambo, you've already been there

This is how I can see this little project going

They are pieces of shit arent they, I really wanted an e36 and now I've got it I hate it.
Shouldn't have any trouble selling though.

Wouldn't say I hate, I do really like it but to get it to where I want it is going to take a while and I'm impatient
