Been a while since I’ve been on here, just wondered if any of you guys have some nice gsi parts hiding away in the loft/garage.
Sold my old gsi kit to a friend years ago and he smoothed the bumper. It’s been sat in his garage for years and I just dug it out again, along with an extended bonnet, semi smoothed boot and some -120mm springs too.
Really noticing how rare parts are becoming these days. Remember picking up a full kit for £80 locally about 10 years ago with all jacking covers, now the only bumpers that come up have huge holes cut out for inter coolers or broken brackets with quick release kits fitted etc.
Interested to see what you boys have. Also if anyone does happen to have a decent condition gsi front bumper and they would be happy to swap for a professionally smoothed one let me know. Fogs/numberplate recess/grill cutout all plastic welded and smoothed by a bodyshop. Both tabs original and intact.

I've got a few bits, not as many as I should have kept. I also think as 3D printing gets better the price of rare stuff should drop. Or at least the availability of parts for projects should be less of a worry. Still got a bit to go but it'll get there, be nice to see cottage industry manufacturing occupying the space underneath used parts, when you consider a set of Escort Cosworth centre caps is 400 quid and a dashboard clock is 300 you can see there's certainly a business case if the quality is there. Which ongoing it will be.
Not quite that bad for Vauxhall stuff yet but that will start to make less of a difference, I'm convinced the market for piss take prices has its days numbers and I'm looking forward to it. Be interesting to see what effect the replica Escort mk2 bodies has on the prices of those. Can only go one way in my view.

How many cars/projects you got these days Ian? I know what you are saying, easientially the same as how pattern parts have become so prominent over the last 10 years. Pattern parts tend to fit as good as oem and I guess that’s how 3D printing will be sometime in the near future. Although I have seen someone advertising 3D printed gsi jacking covers and they still aren’t close enough for my liking.

Yeah I've seen those jacking covers, they're not there yet. Still got all my stuff stored, one day I'll get on top of work enough to get back in to my hobby

I bought quite a few spare GSi bits for mine when everything was still cheap, only thing I couldn't really get even 6 / 7 years ago was front jacking covers.
Wish I had bought a spare set of center caps for Speedlines for that ship has sailed now
I think my best bargain was a full GSi interior for £30 I'd like to try and find a find a replacement rear bench for mine now but they are doing silly money.
In a lot of cases, Corsa GSi parts are fetching more money than Nova GSi bits.

I wish I had held on to my bits. I had a full kit with all 4 original jacking covers!! And genuine irmy mhws too which I’m sure the guy I sold them too still has.
I’m regularly checking the bay and fb marketplace to see if any bits pop up but I’d say there hasn’t been much atall in the last year or 2.
Bargain that, rarely see seats come up, I guess a lot of them got worn and tatty and then thrown away.

Seen that guy advertise them again on the FB group the other day. I think they'd be more appealing if they didn't have that weird dimpled plastic layering on it - i.e., the guy smoothed and primed them so they were ready for painting, just like what you could have bought from a VX dealer back in the day.
