you need a spare wheel, but when I had mine done, they never checked as I had loads of stuff in the boot and it never got moved!

You don't need a spare wheel, just if uve got one it must have legal tred.

Ive got a huge box in my boot so i dont think they have ever checked it and its passed 2 years in a row

I don't think I've ever had an MOT examiner check my spare wheel in any of my cars!

if it fails on the tread of the spare tyre - simply take the wheel out the car and get him to check again

it is illegal to not have a spare wheel, however, a spare wheel is not testable so ya dont need one
