has anyone had problems with thier mfd lightening? By this i mean i have put in 2 x 5500mcd leds and one keeps blowing.

Cobra148 made them for me. he said he put them in his and they were fine. and they were woring so i know i don't need to twist them.

have u used resistors.....if ur using the 1.3cd ones the current is too high without a resistor and it shortens the life of them sumtimes blowing straight away.......

need resistors as CRB says, too much current. Ask cobra148, he's got some more now too!

Cos cobra has done them for me he has put resistors on them. It was just the fact that i was unsure whether or not you could have 2 5500mcd leds in the mfd.

You can...I've jus made some up myself. Got them in the dash and the mfd and had no probs. I've got a set of 5 ready made up if ure inrested.

You blown another one? Am I right in thinking its the same side each time? I suggest you put a test meter on the side thats blowing as something deffinately isn't right. How many you blown now? Its a good job they aren't costing you anything 
Here's mine, with the same leds in. These were fitted before the date shown and still going strong..

Apologies to cobra! I looked at the right one in the morning and couldn't see it. So i thought it hasd blown. But when i got into my car last night they were both working fine, so i can only think it was the angle the sun was coming in though my rear windscreen, which was making it look like it was out. Cheers
