I had my car lowered 40mm before on standard shocks but took them off and put the original ones back on coz i felt the ride was shockingly harsh. I am thinking of lowering it again in the summer coz it really does handle like a boat and i dont feel safe cornering sometimes.

Will uprated shocks make the ride stiffer and therefore more harsh? I know that lowering springs will wear out the standard shocks quicker but by the time this happens i will have either a good setup or else a different car so this doesnt really bother me.

So basically will standard shocks be a more comfortable ride than uprated ones?

depends wot shocks u get, adjustable shocls can be adjusted for a harsher or softer ride, just depends on wot sort of cornering performance u want

normal uprated shocks tend to be shorter (but depends on wot drop u go for) to cope with the shorter springs

but in general they wont wear out as they arent constantly damping with lowered springs on (as standard ones would be)

it will handle slightly better then just springs

i think adjustables usually go for £300+

apex kits are around £250 i think, with a choice of either a 40mm or 60mm drop
