he's told the insurance i went into him!! Stuck up fool driving a 2 month old merc.
Incident happened on friday....large round about, like 3 lanes the whole way round. Anyway, i'm going straight on.....so stay to the left hand lane as i join the round about....(as highway code tells).
He's been coming down from the right (a LONG time after i have pulled out). I've had to slow down due to traffic, so moving at say 5-10mph. Anyway, he's cut accross from the inside lane (doin bout 20/30mph), all the way to the outside lane (where i was) to try and turn off the roundabout. Anyway, he's gone straight into my rear 1/4 and rear bumper, and spun me.
Everyone i have spoken to, inlcuding my insurance company and a couple of police officer friends, have said through and through, his fault. At the scene, he basically admitted liability by sayin he "thought" i was turning left. (have witness for thsi). He also wasnt going to stop straight away, but appeared as if he was goin to drive off.
However, after ringing his insurance company, they have said that he now says i've pulled onto the roundabout and cut him up. Now, i may be no expert, but from the damage on my car (rear 1/4 + bumper hanging off)....I MUSTA REVERSED INTO HIM!!
Anyway, wot do u guys reckon?
To be honest, i think i'm pretty safe here, especially due to location of damage on each of the cars.....(his being all down the passenger wing, bumper etc). Thing is, I really gotta make a secure case, coz i am young and can't afford to lose my 2 year no claim bonus. In fact, i can't afford to get the damaged reapired at all!! Plus i'm only 3rd party fire and theft.
I've had trouble loading the sketch of what happened, but will get that up later
ANY HINTS/HELP ON HOW TO MAKE MY EVIDENCE MORE APPEALING/CONVINCING, LET ME NO!! cheers

I would say just describe as you have done, the fact that the back of your car is screwed pretty much proves that it can't be ur fault.
If he's saying that, then he's implying you reversed into him on a roundabout as you have said.
And you have witnesses, the only other thing you could have done at the scene was to get him to sign something saying he was liable, but bit late for that.
I'd reckon that there is no way he can get away with accusing you.

yeah, i'm pretty content with my evidence........i was almost gonna knock this guy out. so arrogant. i mean, i not only have a witness in the car (who can vouch for exactly what happened, but also an "independant" witness on the street!
cheers dude

i no mate, but it was hardly serious. Plus, the cops round here are a pile of crap. 2 Weeks ago, someone went into the side of my mate's car at the end of the road.......it took them 2 hours to arrive....because no one was hurt, they said it wasnt an "emergency call".

You can use middle, or 1st lane. But as road was empty at that point, took the 1st lane. Oh and policeman confirmed that was correct.
There are NO road markings or signs on the floor which indicate what lane to be in.

was it a 4 or 5 exit roundabout.
Not having a go but i would probablt use centre lane for straight ahead (2nd exit) on a 4 exit roundabout if it was busy.
If not id use any or straddle the two probably.
Either way if he hit your 3/4 then it sounds like his fault.

A 4 exit mate. If u c that diagram above, i'm the blue car half way round (just goin past the junction nearest us), mindin my own buisiness when i've been slammed from the right.
i no wot u mean bout goin in the center lane, but it was empty, and i always make sure that i'm keep that lane clear for other traffic etc. otherwise i find ppl come up on the left, and cut in front to go right!! It happens all the time at that roundabout. i mean i use it prob 6-10 times a day....and i've seen casulties and fatalities occur by ppl chopping and changing lanes, caused by cunts like the dick who hit me, spinnin ppl etc

It was a completely different accident, but I was in a crash a year ago that was the other drivers fault. She admitted full liability at the scene and there were no other witnesses. When i went to claim, she had changed her story and reckoned it was all my fault. Basicaly it came down to her word against mine and it looked like it would go 50:50, then out of nowhere she gets hold of a statement from one of the people who stopped aftre the accident. even though they never saw it they said it was my fault. This tipped the claim in her favour. It went 100% my fault. After nearly a year of constant pissing and moaning by me, the insurance comapnies have now relented a little and it has been finally settled at 75% my fault, 25% her fault. Its all a load of bull from her, but there is nothing I can do about it.
Sadly its a case of "young guy ina powerfull car Vs middle-aged woman in ford escort" everyone will always presume the youg guy is at fault.
crap.
btw, statements from witnesses that were in your car are often disregarded by insurance commpanies.
Good luck with your claim though.

Lovely mate.....well i've got a witness now, who "stopped" after the accident If this other guy who hit me is gonna lie, then well i think i'll beat him to it oh, and this guy is a police officer

I no this is a shitter but it'll put youre insurance up slightly next year even if its not your fault cos youve been involved in an accident, insurance companies are aresholes cos youve had an accident regardless of fault the regard you of more of a risk! I think we'd all be better off with no bloody insurance cos people who dont have any seem to get fined less than most peoples annual premium! oh and if ya run somebody over ya gonna get the book thrown at yer if insured but if you havent got any youll prob get a fine and a slapped wrist
What the fook is wrong with this god damn fooked up twisted country, they cant even fill bleedin potholes in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
