I've just got myself some plastic primer, flame red paint, clear lacquer and various grades of wet'n'dry paper.
as soon as it stops blody raining for long enough i'm going to colour code the side strips and if that goes well, the grey bits on the front and back bumpers.
I'm thinking it will be tricky to mask off the side stips and still get them painted right up to the edge so there is not gap where they join onto the car... if you get what i mean.
Well there is only one way to find out
Maybe i'll take some photos of the progress too.

I took my bump strips off. Sprayed some new ones and then put them back on.

And the front and rear bumpers? Would those need to come off as well?

Erm nobody mentioned the roof at all!
Talking about the side strips and the bumpers.
So how would i stick the side strips back on after removing them?

Hmm impact adhesive maybe.
Or if there is lots of residue from the original tar maybe it will stick back ok.... don;t want it falling off though
