just got an alpine mrd m300 mono block amplifier and am looking for a sub to go with, choices so far
1. alpine type r
2. phoenix gold octane r
3. bbg
anyone else got any other ideas? im liking the octane r at the moment.
dont really want to spend much more than 80 quid and can get all of the above for that, cheers

The Type R is MADE for that amp... Im biased and have never heard the others but i'd say Alpine matey.

erm, its part of the new range, its a digital amp. got loads of different settings which i dont uinderstand, luckily my mate works for just ice and said he would set it all up

I would say to go for either a JL W3, which is 125RMS, so that would be fine. OR to go for a Diamond Audio, they are pukka.

u will need either a DVC 4 ohm x 2 sub or a SVC 2 ohm sub to get the best out of the amp Kris. I have got that amp aswell (paid £80!!!) and am on the lookout for a cheap 12" Alpine Type-R.

alpha sell 10 " type r's for 75 quid, think the 12's are 100.

2 x 4ohms. NOT the 2x 4ohms. ALL new type R's are dual v.coil subs.
