Hi
My tyres seem to be wearing away quickly round the edge, in the middle they seem to be fine. This only happens to the front ones. I know i take bends fast but i don't think they should be wearing away as much as they are. I had the alloys balanced when i got them. They have spacers on them aswell.
I think i may need to get the tracking done but im not sure. Does anyone know?
Thanks
Mark

what size are they & what pressure are you running them at?
sounds like they are under inflated

i agree with gambit. there is too many people on this site which run low tyre pressures.

for it to happen on both sides of the car on both tyre walls it can only be under inflation

I know it sounds stupid but what does the spacer do?

32f 30r, this is what i ran on my 15's on the corsa
the spacer just reduces the offset, so if you had a 5mm spacer on et45 wheels then they would be et40

cheers for the help mate.
Do u reckon the spacer would have anything to do with it?
I will check the psi later as im at work at the minute.
Thanks again

nah not really if
it was happening on only one side the of the tyre wall then the spacer would slightly exaggerate this
but because its happening on both sides of the tyre wall it cant be the spacer.
also, if you dont have your own pressure gauge then check your tyre pressures at two garages as 9/10 garages read inaccurately!

u can get a little digital tyre pressure reader from halfords for around a fiver
also, make sure you check them when the tyres are cold, the more you drive around the hotter the air inside the tyre gets and the pressure increases, therefore misleading you when you go to check the pressure.
thats why having your own pressure checker is handy, as you can check them first thing in the morning without having to drive to a garge
