Certain members love slagging them off. But, they can't be that bad?? How long has the company been about for? How big is the company???

Can't be that bad?

Discuss?

People are quick to slag them off etc. but what people don't realise is that they only work on STANDARD engines not modified ones.

Yeah, everyones seen the adverts.

But what im saying is, if there so bad, then why is the company so big? Surely a product that is sh1te, word would get round, and the company would go downhill?

I think superchips do what they say. Increase rev limiter, sort fueling etc.

Isn't that all they advertise, so why do people slag superchips off?

A Superchip will only remap timing and fuelling on a standard engine, it's not designed to be totally customisable like Unichip etc.

So it may work on cars with engine mods, it may not, depends on the engine and the mods, but Superchips have never claimed that it always works with modded engines, only standard ones.

Got in touch with SC again..... came to an agreement to get another map down... travelled another 120 miles.... 1st map blew my ECU.... i had to stay the night and get a train home ( they paid). My car was down in edinburgh for 2 weeks or so waiting for a new or replacement ECU from HO in buckinhamshire ....... got the new ECU, mapped to what should have been good.... nope!

Got it sorted out again, but using a diff dealer..... i came to the conclusion the only way to solve the idle problem was to raise it!!! so i asked for the same map with an idle of 1020rpm...... it worked... BUT i was still unhappy about the fumes and poor consumtion....

When to unichip dealer.... SORTED in 1 night..... better power, up 10+bhp over superchips map!!

THEN.... got in contact with superchips head office again regarding upping the revlimit..... got told they could not do it on my ECU.... i then asked if they could 'remap' any hamiltons old 1.6 ECU which was the sort that could have the rev limit increased... they said yes.... anyway... took it down there again and got told ' No that isnt possible'

some 'may'.... most will not....

they are off the shelve products....

That's pretty shit then!

Much rather have a fully customisable chip and rolling road session, even if the engine was standard ie. no air filter/exhausts/cams etc.!

yes superchip for GT = original Fiat mapping with boost cuts removed and raised revlimit. boost increased to 19psi. this is far too much for my GT3 and with original mapping it runs lean. PGTF with superchips being good
