My brakes went on my car last night and couldnt stop. The pedal is really soft and reaches the end of its stroke. At the end of the stroke the brakes come on a little bit but not much. The brake fluid level was slightly under, i have now filled this up, and pumped the pedal but the brake pedal still has no pressure. Can anyone help????

check ur lines, and the brake cylinders, look for it leaking somewhere, r they noisy at all?

poss leaking, although you probably would have lost more fluid.
They all need bleeding no doubt.
If in doubt take it to a garage, its not something you want to risk.

Will check the level when i get home however i dont think it was going down. Will bleed them anyways, wud air have been able to get in if the level was slightly under?? What pipes should i check just the ones to the front?

rear cylinder could have popped, brake line split, measter cylinder or sevo fucked

Check the calipers i head from a dealer a known problem with vauxhalls was the caliper as it works like a swing arm one side forces the other on to the disc, if one side is stiff then there will be no forcing the other side onto the disc.

when one of my rear cylinders went to pedall went all the way too the floor they felt really spongy and they were rubbish. look round your rear wheels too see if any brake fluid has come out, my drum and wheel were covered in it.

Well if both calipers came off the same production line i.e. a fualty batch then no not really.

With brakes there is only so many things it could be.
Check from the master cyclinder down the pipes to the calipers. If there is not leaks at the front, follow it along to the back. That rules out the pipework.
If its not that, then u've only got the calipers etc to worry about and u can look at them. Strip em down, clean em up etc.

but they wont have done, they are different.
highly unlikely they would both go at exactly the same time even if they were both faulty.

If the pedal is close to the floor to stop the car it could be your servo this happened to my mums escort. Lee

Hada quick look at lunch and from a breif inspection it lookslike there is oil on the back of my drum and on the alloy, it is very minimaland only on the one side tho, i will look closer when i get home

Yeah servo agreed... I though that brakes ran a dual setup, so if fronts fail backs work and vice versa. It must be the master cylinder to have virtually no brakes...?

rear cylinder has popped, u need to replace the cylinder one the infected side and shoes on both sides.

 no i had to drive it home from town yesterday and got a lift to work today
Its not even worth thinking about driving it anywhere! thats why i aint gonna take it to a garage, will do it meself
