I am thinking of gettin a jbl GTO 2000 amp, an a 12" gt3 sub, with box an wiring kit for £149. would this sound good? Any other ideas around that price range?

Checkout max power they normally have package deals advertised in the ICE sections...
we would be here for days telling you what's best for around £150 and you'd still be none the wiser...
Get yourself a matched package deal and that should do you proud for now...

i can recommend cadence stuff, available from hendon car audio, they are damn loud too.

JBL amps are normal very, very good.. but me thinks the GTO is the buget series they brought out, so your not gonna get the performance you would expect normal JBL amps, but never the less it should do the job... as for the sub.... not got a clue m8 nerver heard or seen one...
