As Half Pint said they get rid of all the luxurys to make it lighter and more of a sports car

Type - R. Tested a 172 before opting for the CTR and I was much more impressed with the Honda. Will hold it's price better, quicker, bigger and more practicle. Driving position felt crap in the 172 and the handling was a bit twitchy I thought

clio 172, another one of those cars that I missed out on and never scratched the itch. Much like the 205 Gtil.

Since this post was dug up from 15 years ago, I had a 182 with the cup pack as my last motor and loved it, very unrefined but what do you expect, went like shit of a stick and stuck to the road very well. Bought it for £2650 with 76k on it, drove it for a year and only £50 on it

My missus currently has two cars, 2009 Civic Type R and a 2004 182.
She much prefers the 182, though I appreciate the FN2 Civic is a fair bit of a bloater compared to an EP3. The 182 was a bit rough when we bought it, but spent some cash on it (bought for £1650 and spent £1k on it) and it is lovely now - pulls like a champ.
I bet these were such a good buy back in 2003, before they all got a bit shonky.
