Hi,

Can you have a 1.6 engine transplant and still keep air conditioning?

When you say you need upgraded suspension, does that mean any aftermarket one or does it have to be extra weight ones? ie will my Eibach kit be ok or will I ned a different one?

Cheers for any reply's. I know these topics are a little common!

Do I?

I was thinking of buying a brand new C16 XE or whatever the letters are from Vauxhall with zero milage.

What about keeping my existing suspension?

your suspension should be ok, but u may need higher poundage springs due to the heavier engine.

Yeah its the complete kit. When I was looking for the kit it simply said "Corsa B" I'm sure so I'd guess there ok.

Do I need a specific engine for air con? How much BHP is a 1.6 16v? (I forget!)

Engine form vauxh will be stupidly expensive mate. Plus you'll still need to but the sensors, electronics etc, as there sold seperatly. No point really mate. Shouldnt be impossible to find a late low milage 1.6 sport in a scrappers and use all the parts off that If thats still not enough, just get the engine reconditioned. I think finding one with around 20k on the clock shouldnt be impossible

It'll be easier if the car already has aircon . 1.6 is 106 bhp, or 109 if its an early Gsi

67bhp to 106bhp sounds like a worthwhile increase. I suppose I can also chip it, induction and other little bitt o help that out too.

If I pay a company like Cossvaux or Lee Mitchell to do the work do they get all the parts and all the other bits - and all I do is give them my car and some money?

My car does already have air con.

Cheers,
