A golf mkIV or an e36 bmw coupe ?
Do you think a new VW would seem as sophisticated or have a good image as a bmw?

The coupes are beautiful cars, especially with the M-Sport kits. I get a lot of looks in mine because I don't look 22, I look more like 19!
But then the new GTi's look really good, I've always had a soft spot for them.

Depends how much £ you want to spend on buying the car and maintaining it etc. I suppose.
Both cars are quite nice. If I had to choose between the two, I would go for the BMW, as I have had bad experiences with Golfs (albeit old ones)!

to be fair, theres nothing classy about an e36 coupe. they're nice to look at and I assume are nice cars, but they certainly aren't classy!

You'll choke now!
The BMW is my second car, I have an MR2 Turbo aswell as the 328.
I get paid well and I don't go out getting hammered very often, so I guess thats how I pay for them. I'm car nuts so I don't mind spending the money on cars.
Cars and Golf, thats all I do. (bought a lovely new Titleist bag at the weekend and a Ping putter, then put a really shitty round in on sunday!)

I'd go for the golf anytime, the mk IV 1.8 20v turbo is a crackin motor and very tunable. Get a black one on Audi TT rims

The BMW parts department were doing all clears as a kit for £150 a few months ago. Get that and save the fronts as spares or flog them on.
