Does driving around in higher gears use less petrol? My car is seriously drinking it like its going out of fashion at the moment.

Yeah it is Weezy

I used to do about 55 in second a lot of the time though

But Seriously

B Racer - Have a look in your car manual, it'll tell you how to save fuel when driving and will probably answer most of the questions you ask on here as well

Oh right. I've been putting my foot to the floor and then changing up when it feels right (sound). So basically if i drive around nice and slowerly with the ac pedal as high as possible, this should save some petrol.

My 1.6 sports manual says to keep revs UNDER 3k for optimum fuel consumption.
It's bloody hard to do though

My Peugeot 106 1.1 does about 60 miles to £7.50. I think i will get more out of it if i stop flooring it and scaring the shit out of people. Oh yeah, i think i need some new front tyres now. Opps. I'll have to get some very soon because i've gotta take it in under the warranty to get the exhaust fixed. I'm gonna ask them if it will invalidate the warranty if i put some nice alloys on. Them wheel trims not only look a bit shit but also keep coming off.

It's silly to say that a given speed is the most economic. It depends on indervidual cars, how they are geared and the conditions they are opperating in.
