Is there anything you can do in the preparation stage as to stop a bodykit sucking up all the fcukin paint you offer it? like coating it in PVA i dunno if that would work just guessing really!

basically im gettin a ccm Karnage kit, but im told its very porus and the paint just soaks into it, does it need to be primed in anything special? would plasticote primer work??

nah, it wont do that, fibreglass kits has a gel coating on them which makes them smooth etc.. just sand the shine off this then prime and paint as normal.

I would'nt advise sanding through the gel coat, as this WILL reveal a pourous surface.
You will then need to fill each individual pin hole, that you will find in the resin and fibres under the gel.
A double gelled item is better for a good sand and paint job

erm, no dont be silly, as said above it will make the finnihs worse, just take the shine off it.
