well i've got 4yrs VB/SQL Server/Oracle exp & i get 26.2k, and with the low tax it works out about 30k back in the UK
so i think u are a tad underpaid!
is it a private or public sector job

am on a similar path, am on my placement year now (13k but average is about 9 - 11 for a student) and im getting about half what ill be on when i finish uni next year
