The front end of the bonnet, where it meets the grille, was rusting, so i resprayed half of my bonnet with primer and spray cans. Where the old spray meets the new spray the paint has turned white for some reason. Should I spray the remaining half over the old paint aswell coz it looks crap.

Spray the whole thing always, you may get a mis match in colour otherwise which would look sh*t, especially on the bonnet!
Could that while just be the primer showing through??
Have you tried cutting paste like t-cut first before you respray it? If it works, it'll save a job!!

I used red primer, and then red paint and tried t cutting it after to blend it in, then it started to go patchy white bits showing through the paint

try just wax/polishing it. Could the white be residue from the t-cut??
