I've been trying to get a loan to pay for the Astra that I'm meant to be picking up next week. (Left it all to the last minute as usual). Anway, fuck knows why but I've been refused twice already, once by the AA and once by Abbey National online loans.
I don't understand it cos I earn £23k and am only borrowing £11k, have had loans before which I always pay and have never been fined for late payments, never been to court etc..
Put a downer on today so far!

try ww.egg.com, or a google search for personal loans. there are loan engines which find you good rates. 11K you should not be paying more than 7.5% really

The ones I've been trying are around 6.5% APR. I would not go on finance at Vauxhall they rip you off with about 17% interest rates. Fuck that!
It really pisses me off, it's not as if I'm on a low wage and I've never had any financial problems, I just don't understand why they refused me?

You send them a cheque for £2.50 and they post you your credit file (ie. who has done searches on you, current status of any loans or finance, how often you pay, etc.

Maybe it's because you don't have much finance, they don't really know what your like when it comes to repaying your debts etc.?
Have you tried getting a loan from your bank out of interest?

I didn't think I would get refused, I mean why would I? I can easily afford the £250 a month to repay the loan.

Well if no-one else wants to give you a loan with lower APR, then it looks like you will have to speak to your bank, sunshine!
