hi all...i have a corsa B SRi 16v and im after a quick shift kit.
does anyone have one? are they any good?
PVD sell the MTec one @£55 (the bottom pic is the quick shift for the corsa, the top pic is for another car)
http://www.pvdnet.co.uk/mtech/performance.asp
also Griff Enginering do 2 kits...a rose jointed quick shift@£125 and a quick shift @£45 (this one is similar to the MTec one).
http://www.griff-eng.co.uk/vauxhall.htm
from the pictures iv seen, the MTec kit and the cheaper Griff Eng kit are just part of the gear linkage (assuming u still av to use part of the original linkage)...whereas the £125 Griff Eng rose jointed kit looks more like the whole linkage (hence costing more).
which kit is best? and also are they hard to fit? do you have to get under the car to fit it?
cheers ppl,
james

Get them from Rally Design. They are about £26 I think. Looks the same as the bottom one in that pic.

How does the quick shift work? I think I know but I don't wanna sound even more stupid than I already do!

basically (to my knowledge lol) it shortens the linkage of the gear shift, so that you can change gear quicker. the gear change distance can be shortend up to 50%
hope this helps!

i've got one one the golf and i dont know how i ever done with out one in the 1st place!
not exactly sure about the corsa one, im s
mine just bolted onto the selector arm, and was a 15min job!! and no need to get under the car
the they only shorten the throw on the gearshift, i.e. it will still move the same amount side to side
if you have a haynes manual then have a look at the gearshift assembly and work it out from there. or alternativly ring Griff engineering and talk to them about it

they are all the same basically, its jsut a piece of steel, so the cheaper the better, they are not put under extreme loads or anything so u dont need to by the best!!
some are adjustable reduction, some are set reduction, thats about the height of it!

I bought one but never fitted it. It looked identical to the bottom one in the pic at the top. Quality seemed to be good.
