When fitting a new head unit to a 106 you need to take out the rear brake shoes and coat them in copper grease. Also you may have to change your front tires inorder to recieve radio 1 - but it depends on the colour of your car. Hope this helps.

yes mate, its easy. follow instructions that come with stereo (providing its legit, it invariably will come with instructions)
its not difficult, you have a ground wire, two live wires (one switched with ignition) then just connect up the speaker wires. there is generally an REM wire too for automatically turnin on amps, there is an aerial cable, and i think thats about it. its not difficult, but disconnect your battery before you start unless u want to be replacing loads of fuses

Thanks mate. It's hard work trying to get answers of some people. Was looking at a JVC one today in Halfords for £100, might get that one and have a go putting it in.

takin a fuse out is more easier than disconnectin the batt.
but all in all, cdcool1 mentioned everything u need to know.
the tricky bit is figuring how to get ur old stereo out. once u know that then everything else is a doddle
