well it made a big clunck and wont move when u put it in gear n try n drive it crunches n dont move but i think the drive shaft is also fuked as now when u start it the drive shaft is spinin even tho its not in gear and its not movin the car iv had enough ov this peice ov shit car now grrrrrrrr

i dont think so as its really clucking and the drive shaft is spining but not moving the car!!!

happened on my dads rover the driveshaft had cum out of the outer cv joint and the shaft was spinning but the wheels wer'nt just check that it aint that

why wud the drive shaft be spinning when its not in gear??do all cars do this if the drive shaft comes outa the cv joint

Our pugeot 405 diesel did that. Big clunk noise.... worked ok for a bit. Next morning there was gear box fluid all over the driveway!

Had mangled up the gearsand broken the gasket too.

See if you can find a second hand box.

driveshafts spin even when the car is stationary thats why the ends are called CONSTANT VELOCITY - meaning they alwasys move at a speed relative to each other.

If your stuck for a box ill give u mine for £30.

The drive shafts shouldn't me moving when the car is stationary i'm sure ?

Nice one, if you can get one, the VWs can't be beaten!

I have to make do with a 1.4i (LS) Corsa B, compare that to a nice golf of similar spec and it'll go faster and feel more solid

Put your car on axle standard and start the engine in neutral, the wheels spin. Can easily be stopped, but they do spin.

EDIT: If the driveshaft is spinning but the wheel is not then the problem is at the hub end as the wheel should be fixed to the driveshaft.
