just unscrew the bits you want to take off.

the bit above the headunit comes off with a gentle push of a flat headed screwdriver

Agree with BigSte, it is a bitch, but be patient and it will come off! Don't be afraid to try, I had never done anything like this about a year ago, now I could probably take apart the entire dash, blindfolded, in the dark, with one hand!
Well, maybe not, but you get what I mean. Once you've done it once, it's easy to do over and over, if you decide you want a change!

Here's my centre console, done a few other bits since, not got any pics though.

Thinking of changing some of it to Rio Verde (Green)? What do you guys reckon??

Get a haynes manual for the heater console as it tells you a better way (the way the vaux peeps do it) to get it out. That way of prising the vents down etc is crap, all you do is mark the console.

Also, watch out when putting it back that the cables for the controls are not tangled- mine were and I forced it back in and it snapped off

Stuck back with a bit of masking tape- that's a point, where would I get another one (not scrappie)
