2.0 is NOT too heavy with the correct suspension setup!!!

exactly, its not a cost effective option. Car will be off the road more often than not. Its just not worth the agro!

if done properly it can be reliable, jo's turbo micra runs fine, pushing big boost too. dont know a great deal about the corsa engine range though, but that cost a fair bit of money, think id go for the 2.0 in a corsa myself, they seem pretty impressive. if you turbo'd it yourself and need pictures to get you started i think it may be unreliable.

are there any off the shelf kits for a turbo conversion? excluding the 2.0l turbo conversion from other cars. I could do it if i had the right things for the set up, am looking to turbo my 1.6. much more insurance friendly than the 2.0 oh and does anyone rekon the likes of a huge say blitz or hks turbo would replace a standard one without MUCH hassle?

the 2.0L would be better in teh long run as it is a standard engine. turboing a N.A motor is not cost effective

I have been in Andys 1.6 and your going to have to spend a shit load of cash for power. a 2.0l is much better. but then only a select few know wot there on about.

Then why not go for one of SBD's throttle body kits?? They do one that increases HP up to 185. Good torque figures too. and very reliable.

Yeah it weighs a little bit more, not much more than a 1.6 for sure. Good suspension setup all te way round will stop the car from lurching and rolling about under heavy driving.

160-170 bhp is reasonable expectation from mantzel and a few bits if you got the older GSI engine Donna's is 160 bhp with mantzel box, cam exhaust superchip and induction kit I think....but not much torque
