I want to fit some interior neons under the footwells!!!
I want to take a permanant live from the battery to the neons with a switch on them cause I think this is the easiest way to do it. I just want to know do I just earth the negative wire from the neons or do I link it up to the negative terminal on the battery?
Any help would be appreciated

i just read that link and it only tells me how to wire them up using the fuse box so that the neons come on with the ignition which i don't want cause i dont want to drive with them on!!!

I'm no expert but I did Physics
I'd guess that you could wire in a switch into the live wire and still have the -ve into the fuse box, that way they will never work without the ignition and you can turn em off when you want.
If you got extra wire you could put the switch into one of the blanks by your headlight swithes

Oh, and mak sure the swith can take the current ? Amps (It'll say somewhere in the light instructions)

oh right is it just the -ve that goes into the fuse.
i think id rather earth or connect the -ve wire to the -ve terminal and put an inline fuse in the positive wire cause the link said that the fuse was only a temporary measure!!!
i just don't know whether to connect it to the -ve on the battery or not. I can't see it doing any damage but i just wanted to make sure!!!

The "temporary measure" is the trapping of the wire in the fuse box, ie. to test it first- then you can fix it more permanently with solder or something

It said in the FAQ that it was a 5A fuse so you could just get a small fuse box if you didn't want to use the existing one

yeh thats what i was thinking.
you can buy inline fuses where you just cut the wire and put both ends into the fue.
I think that is alot safer than messing with my fuse box!!!
So what do you think about the earth or battery for the -ve?!

If I were you I'd wire both the fuse and switch into the live wire.
Live wire===> positive terminal!!
-ve wire ===> -ve terminal!!

I think I might just go for the max power ones!!! They look the same as the rest and there cheaper!!!

i just looked on www.motor-world.co.uk and the max power ones are £24.99 each which isn't bad!
Might get some at the weekend and have a go!!!

the neons from neoquip draw 500mA so use just a slightly higher value fuse than this (no more than 1A preferably). Wire the + from the battery to the one side of the switch, and the + of the neon to the other side of the switch and the - of the neon to the car body (as the - terminal of the battery is already connected to the car body)
On the corsa c there is a grommet behind the glovebox and you can get a wire through there.

cheers! I think you mean MFD though, not MDF! lol
you can connect it any where to the car body that is grounded to the -ive terminal of the battery. Best thing to do is to go out and pick up a cheap £5 multimeter and measure between the + of the battery and the place where you want to connect to on the car body and make sure you have 12V.
CD player requires complete dismantling to resolder surface mount LED's in place of the standard ones. They are extreamly small and measure 2mm by 1mm, if your shite at soldering dont bother cuz u gota use a magnifying glass to do it!

It all depends on how much current the neons will draw, so youll have to find that out first. 1A should be plenty though. Im using the same fuse for both of the tubes, which is rated at 1A.
Take the glovebox out, on the left there is a bolt which is screwed into the bodywork, use that as your ground.

Where are the screws for the glovebox cause I can't fing them?
