got my new tax disk through this morn and permission to get my new plates made

im off to get some made and put them on

yeh was £250. i originally ordered K700 RRY for £360 but it was already sold. im glad now kus this is £100 cheaper and i think its better

only problem is now i got my tax reminder through yesterday and its got the old reg on and its due end of this month and i have to send old tax disk back. dvla have wrote my new reg on my mot and the bottom part of my logbook (til i get new one) u think they will stil let me tax it

u dont need the reminder if u have the logbook so u should be fine if log book has the new reg on

im confused...

you should get a doc thru the post saying the plate is on retention etc. You CANNOT use it yet!

If you go to a DVLA office, you HAVE to get it taxed at the same point, or take your current disc and they'll give you a new one. You are allowed to use the plate straight away.

If you send it off, you have to send off, and when you get your stuff back you have to go to the post office with your current disc and get it exchanged.

From what you say it sounds like you went to the dvla and they let you transfer without updating your tax? they should of done that for you.

You can get tax with the green part of your log book as long as it has the right reg number on it...


btw, my reg plate is H15 CYA... Reads HI 5 CYA

When u go to get the plates made don't forget u need ur driving liscence and log book or they wont make them!! (new laws)

you have to have either the reminder or the V5 logbook so u'll be ok

this happened to me aswell when I got mine (reminder had old reg on it) not a problem dont need the reminder anyway
