Engine mods to get more power??
I have a 1.4 8v LS M reg corsa.
Someone told me getting a mpi head from an sxi and putting it on my 1.4 8 v LS is a good cheap mod
Anyone?

you could give it to me.
Failing that - i think if u put a 1.2 head on it would increase compression? (i know it works on fords  ) I dont think a 16v head would go on a 1.4 8v tho?
bewst just give me the money to be on the safe side

MPI head might go on if you can find one. 200 quid will get you a complete engine though.
Or I could be boring and say use the cash to trade up to an SRi, less hassle to insure and you'll get electric bits if you track one down with that option.

well i had the option of getting a better car, but where i live it'll prob got walkabouts ie get nicked  but yeah one of my mates who works in a garage said get a head from a 1.4 8v sri Multi Point Injection or something? and it'll work ok, what do i need to do for that, plus is it much work? Bearing in mind i know for a fact my dad would be able to do it, just don't want it to be loads and loads of work? SO labour is not a problem, just cost and time.

You wont need just the head, youll need the hole top end inc exhaust manifold, and then the ECUs will be different and youll need an MPi fuel pump etc etc etc lol

I sold an SRi engine for 200 quid, and that was fairly low miles for the age.
Sounds like you'll need almost that anyway...
