What sort of BHP do you to tune the 14XE engine to outperform the 16XE (a standard one) engine surely it will have to be around 120 - 125 bhp ?????
Please discuss:

Yeah i know that but torque will increase as BHP does so obviously the 14XE BHP fiqure will have to be higher than the 16XE to allow for the lower torque fiqure. (Of course this will depend on the type of mods you carry out)

torque doesnt have to go up with bhp, can even go down.

yeah typical example of this is the power cap for the 20xe takes top end torque away but gives top end bhp

well ive got a 1.4xe with mantzel powerbox, ported, decat with straight through exhaust. Not sure on bhp but it will be around 120-125. Feels quicker than a gsi but theres not much in it i suppose coz it will probably lose out on torque

so a 14XE would still have no chance at 120-125 bhp (against the 16XE anyway)
