So i dont need the gearbox or owt like that???

Cuz i was gonna tune my 1.4 16v with manifold exhaust manifold and superchip and maybe clutch and some essential internals to cop with the extra bhp, but thought if i did it on a 1.6 16v then i would be 10-15bhp up alredy and probably get more out of the 1.6 than i would the 1.4, what do you think???

It should have it imprinted on the gb itself. As said, most 1.4 16v came witht eh F13 gearbox, although im still to be prooved that some 1.4 16v came with an F15 box. IM still sure they didn't!!

1.6 GSi came with an F15 im sure, although i think the ratios on the newer sport and late GSi models were different.

As for parts, well, i think it should be a straight swap. The F13 box will be able to take the 1.6 16v engine, should give better bottom end too. Mount etc will be the same.

As said, i'd check up on the driveshafts though. But tbh, i can't really see em being different.

But you have to change so much more and the whole insurance and re-sale options, plus i could play with the 1.6 manifolds chips etc and get an engine that wouldnt be far behind a standard 2.0!!!

Anyone know how much i would be looking at for a 1.6 16v second hand or even brand new!!!
