Was doing 30 on a 30 limit road and went through a speed camera (didn't notice although i did see the camera signs, should of been looking for the camera but was only doing 30 anyways) and the camera flashed twice dead quick, noticed because it was dark. I'm now shitting myself. I was deffo only doing 30 - 32 though. Does anyone think i can get done for this?

All photos go to an adjudicator who manually works out ur speed by counting the number of 'tags' on that floor that u have passed, between each photo being taken (Distance/time/speed calculations).
The law at present still requires most photos to be checked 1 by 1 by a police officer (who's specific job it is to do so).

i thought the spped camera sorked out your speed by how long it takes to to pass over the lines
time x distance = speed

No. U must wait for the letter thru the post. Is ur car in ur mum or dad's name, coz if it is, they will recieve the letter.
U'll be fine mate, most speedo's over read anyway, so 31, would be bout 28 anyway.
It just depends on how that camera was set up. Go thru it again, or watch other cars goin thru.........is it flashin loads? if so its poorly calibrated.

yeah this is correct, but this detection method is inaccurate. It is used simply to determin if the camera should flash or not, not to get the accurate speed. U wil see that the camera will provide a speed, and i believe this is fairly accurate, but its not how the conviction is made.
To hold up as evidence in court, it must be physically rechecked, thus meaning 95% of photos are checked by hand.
The latest i heard, the new generation cameras use a new style laser/infrared detection blah blah summat, which means that manual checking is not required.

Usually within 2-3 weeks, but by law, the police have up to 3 months to get this to u. After then, u are legally free from the speeding conviction (as long as the letter isnt lost in post etc)

They'll throw away the key, when they lock you up......you not heard about that new law brought out the other day, making penalties for speeding in a 30mph zone ten times more severe?
