Fed up with the Corsa. It is dead with a fucked up gearbox.

I want to get some 18's just trying to decide which ones. Don't want to spend much more than £1k though and will get the car lowered (probably 35mm) at the same time as the wheels are fitted.

A seondhand F15 box costs around £50-£75 from a scrappy. And you're contemplating spending £1000+ on new rims??

I know - but if he coughed up a £100 odd and got the gearbox sorted, even Patrick's Corsa would fetch enough to cover new rims for the Astra...

Patrick, why do you think the car comes with 17's as standard? This is because this is the best combo of looks and making the car sit right on the deck and overall handling.

If you go pissing about with the 18's and lardy da, your going to fuck up the cars handling and general setup. Leave the 17's, or change them, but 18's and you are going to be worse off if you enjoy the drive

I know I've got to get the gearbox fixed. Most importantly because it's MOT is due on 25 September. And I would like to get rid of it at some point. Just haven't got around to finding a gearbox yet. Nearest one I've found so far is eastbourne. Gonna search round some local scrappies over the next couple of days.

Not true!

Vauxhall originally planned on fitting 18's as standard on both the Astra Gsi Turbo and the Coupé Turbo as they offered the best handling and didn't alter the performance a great deal. They went with 17's in the end out of costing issues.
