vcd...

700megs... just use an 80min cd... although conversion from avi to vcd will most likely change that size.

an avi converted to an mpeg will roughly double in size so you will need to half it and stick it on two and also just to let u know vcd is just an mpeg renamed to a .dat

go to www.vcdhelp.com or better still www.doom9.org

and if the avi is a divx then tmpenc wont do it cos the sound is VBR - or variable bitrate - u will have picture and no sound - this is EXTREMELY upsettingafter you have waited for it all to get compressed properlyso i advise you believe me - u need to get a program called virtual dub or something and do the audio seperately - a goodsite to check out is http://www.dvdrhelp.com i thnk its called -this has loads of guides for doing divx to vcd etc conversion

Use tmpenc to split the video into 70 min sections when converting to vcd, use the advanced, source range to pick the start and end points for each section.
Takes ages to process but TMPG isthe most reliable ive used and is one of the quickest.
