172, good little cars!! I remember trying to ahve a blat with a brand new one (when i had my 1.4). He was still running it in and not taking it over 3500rpm and it left my car for dust
Good standard cars, good handling, still the renault tackyness, but if u can live with that , sorted.
Engine wise, good performers as standard. Can be tuned, but be prepard to get the big fat wallet u have out as it really isn't cheap. Prima Racing do Throttle bodie kits for them. I think K-Tec should be bringing some stuff out for them by now as well.

Love the 172's...maybe thinking of getting one next summer...around the Y reg mark...would go for the 172 sport model not the cup...I mean the cups fractionally quicker to 60 but I would prefer the luxuries of ABS...SAT NAV..leather etc instead if the 0.5 sec quicker 0-60 time!

handling is meant to be a tad on the soft side on them as standard, but thats something that can be easily sorted
and yes id take the sport model with all the goodies also

Why someone would attempt to kill 15ks worth of spanking new car by taking it up the strip against a well run-in GTi is beyond me,
but hey, whatever floats yer boat!
