I've got an X10XE engine, 1.0L 12V 3 cylinder. When driving at constant
speed, it intermittantly judders (looses driving power) and the ECU warning
light comes on for 3-4 seconds. The ALDL socket is a 16-pin socket; I've
read the info on topbuzz, they say short pins 5 and 6 if you have a 16-pin
socket to read the codes, but my pin six has no contact (no metal contact in
the hole.) Which pins do I need to short out to read the ECU fault codes?
Will I get a 2-digit code or a 4-digit code?
Thanks

According to gunson's website, their code reader only works for vauxhalls
up to 1995, mine's a 1998 car. Maybe they've disabled the ability
to read the codes to force you to cough up the 50 quid at the dealership.
I'll never buy another vauxhall.
