I bought some alluminium sheeting from maplin yesterday.
I'm going to see if i can make some heat shielding for my BFO.
There isn't much room and i'm not sure if i can do it or not.... we'll see.

Yeh it won't stop conducted heat.
I hopefully should however stop allot of convected heat, from the actual hot air.
Should make the BFO pull air from the colder areas.

Looked at it and i don't know whether i can do it without the BFO rattling against it.

Could do! That would insulate it too.

go to b&q and look around for sheet foam
or get a hot water bottle & cut it down the side and use the rubber from that

sounds a bit daft but what about putting a small electrical fan between the cold air intake and the air filter? with it being in a box it would blow nice cold air all over it would it not?

the fan would have negligable air flow speed compared to the suck of the engine.
